About This Blog Thanks for stopping by the blog of singer/songwriter Dan Coyle; I'll keep this little gem up to date while on the road, writing, recording, and meeting my fans at shows. This may give you some insight into just how weird I can be - and all of the weird things I enjoy. There will be stories, poems, rants, musings, and other forms of writing that my feeble vocabulary cannot contend with. Hope you enjoy! Main Blog Page | December 11, 2011 A Look Back At 2011 With this year quickly winding down, I thought I would take a minute to catch you all up on what we accomplished this year...and it was a GREAT one! As many of you know, I left the U.S., where I had been playing 100-150 shows every year, to try my luck in Europe. The idea was simple -- start over. New fans, new cities, new places, and a chance to feel like everything is just beginning again. I never could have imagined just how good things would go. Between February 3 - December 24 we will have been to: England, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, Slovenia, and Italy; playing in far too many cities to count! It was a year of wonderful audiences, fun venues, and new friends. Not only did I play well over 100 shows here, but I recorded a new album in Berlin that was released on October 5th...and it’s already my all-time best selling album on iTunes (thank you all). We return to NYC for the holidays and to have some time to recuperate. With less than 10 shows in January and February, it will be a nice rest. Then I’ll be setting my sites on my first big U.S. tour since 2010. March and April will cover about 25 cities in the U.S. and Canada, and this Summer you’ll see me at several festivals across the country. I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for a very special year; one of my best ever. If you’re in Europe, don’t fret, we’ll be back in 2013. If you’re in the U.S., get ready for an exciting year and I’ll see you soon! |
