About This Blog

Thanks for stopping by the blog of singer/songwriter Dan Coyle;
I'll keep this little gem up to date
while on the road, writing, recording,
and meeting my fans at shows. This
may give you some insight
into just how weird I can be - and all of the weird things I enjoy. There will be stories, poems, rants, musings, and other forms of writing that my feeble vocabulary cannot contend with.

Hope you
enjoy!

With A Little Help From My Fans
Our return flights (back to the U.S.) are booked, we have  just about three months left on our one-year tour of Europe, and I’m already getting excited about my 2012 U.S. tour; that’s where you come in.

Since I’ve been touring and playing hundreds of shows since 2008, there are a few things I’ve picked up along the way; one is to reach out to my friends, fans, occasional stoppers-by, etc, for suggestions because they almost always have great ideas!

Here’s what I’m looking for:

1) Any good music venues that you might know of in or around your city. These should be places that are open to booking my type of music and have a good local reputation.

2) Local radio stations. I’ve been on several local and national radio stations this year in Europe. Sometimes they are playing my music, sometimes they are inviting me in-studio for an interview; whatever the case, it is very welcomed publicity.

3) House Concerts! I had to add the exclamation point because it has been so much fun to do house concerts while in Europe, and I want to continue to do them in the states. Here is a brief explanation of how it works:

Someone acts as a host for the concert, opening up a small space in their home for a completely acoustic, unplugged concert. The host invites friends, family, whomever they want to attend. The concert is free to host, but should request those who attend to offer a suggested donation (usually $10-$15). The concert consists of 2 - 30 minute sets...and is
awesome! (oh, and the host always gets a free copy of any CD they want)

4) As you might know, I have a new album out; and besides radio stations, I’m interested in any music blogs or publications that you might be aware of, to review the album.

So that’s my list, I’m sure some of you out there have fantastic suggestions. If you do, email dan(at)dancoyle(dot)com and let me know!

I’m working with a new booker in the U.S. and I know she’s going to do an awesome job - but there are only so many hours in the day - so any help is so greatly appreciated!
