About This Blog Thanks for stopping by the blog of singer/songwriter Dan Coyle; I'll keep this little gem up to date while on the road, writing, recording, and meeting my fans at shows. This may give you some insight into just how weird I can be - and all of the weird things I enjoy. There will be stories, poems, rants, musings, and other forms of writing that my feeble vocabulary cannot contend with. Hope you enjoy! Main Blog Page | June 13, 2011 “In The Middle Of Nowhere” We’ve been traveling for over four months now from London to Berlin, Dortmund, Hannover, Kiel, Prague, Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Amsterdam, and now Groningen; yes, Groningen. It’s in The Netherlands and you’ve probably never heard of it. After traveling from city to city, we’ve finally landed in no-mans-land. Groningen does have a University and a red light district, but that’s about the only thing of man-made significance out here. There are trees, fields, goats, horses, lambs, pigs, cows, alfalfa, and so-on, for as far as the eye can see. We came here to get out of the city for a few weeks, and I wanted to finish up songs for the new album, so they would be ready to record in August; mission complete! I did get the chance to play a couple of nice little house concerts while being here. The people were very appreciative and friendly. And, of course, those Dutch all speak three (or more) languages so everything being in English was no problem! Later this week we will pack our bags again to head back to Amsterdam, then Haarlem, Brussels, Paris, back to Amsterdam, and then to Berlin for one month. It will be a whirlwind six weeks but it is incredibly nice to be back on the road. I did an interview earlier this week, which I will plan to post next Monday on this here blog, so we’ll see you then! |
